Aditya L1 Launch Successful: PM Modi Congratulates ISRO; Aditya L1's Journey to Sun's Orbit

 Aditya L1 Launch: In a historic achievement, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the Aditya L1 spacecraft from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on Saturday. This milestone marks a significant step forward in India's maiden solar expedition.

Aditya L1 Launch

PSLV: The Trusted Carrier

The Aditya L1 mission, set to embark on a 125-day voyage to the Sun, was entrusted to ISRO's reliable Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). The spacecraft will remain in Earth's orbit for sixteen days before commencing its journey toward its ultimate destination.

Destination: L1 Point

After four months of travel, the Aditya L1 satellite will reach the L1 point, located in a halo orbit around the Sun, approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth.

Launch Details

The launch occurred precisely at 11:50 am from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The countdown, lasting 23.10 hours, commenced the day before, ensuring meticulous preparations for this momentous event.

Aditya L1's Mission

The Aditya L1 spacecraft is specifically designed for remote observations of the Solar corona and in-situ observations of the Solar wind at L1, known as the Sun-Earth Lagrangian point. This point is situated about 1.5 million kilometers from Earth.

When Will Aditya L1 Reach the Sun's Orbit?

Aditya L1 is expected to reach its designated orbit near the Sun after four months, in January of the following year.

Post-Launch Plans

Following the successful launch, the spacecraft will initially be placed in a Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Subsequently, the orbit will be adjusted to become more elliptical, eventually reaching the L1 point.

After the successful launch of Aditya L1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations, emphasizing India's relentless pursuit of scientific excellence. He stated, "Our tireless scientific efforts will continue to develop a better understanding of the Universe for the welfare of all humanity."

Minister's Praise

Union Minister of State, Dr. Jitendra Singh, hailed the launch as a 'sunshine moment for India,' recognizing the dedicated efforts of the ISRO team.

ISRO Chief's Statement

ISRO Chief S. Somanath confirmed the successful launch and stated that Aditya L1 had been injected into an elliptical orbit. The spacecraft will now commence its journey toward the L1 point after necessary maneuvers.

The fourth stage of the Aditya L1 launch has begun, involving the second burning phase of the PSLV rocket.
